I was absent for a few weeks, but i'm back.
Today i want to write about racial discrimination, in Chile many people think we are not racist, because we don't abuse of black people. But in Chile we discriminate sometimes without knowing.
Chile it's a very racist country, we can view that daily, when you go to the uptown, you think you are in another country, because the people of these places most are white and blonde. But in the downtown most people are brunette. That it's because our high class is people who comes from europe or white countries, and our lower class are most brunette because is a mixture with the indigenous people, mostly in Santiago. We are most racist with our neighbors like Peruvian or Bolivian people because also they are indigenous, we were at war with those countries, so we have a lot of jokes with them. In the recent years a lot of Colombians and Haitians came to Chile, and we view most black people in the street. I think we are very racism and chouvinist, because we think we are the better country of Latin America, and we see our neighbors like uneven countries, but the white countries like Argentina or Uruguay, we don't make jokes to them. I think it's a challenge for the young people change this, and make equal relationships with our brothers, and worry about the condition of their lifes, without labour contract, without good houses, and without social care. I think we have much for learn with the immigrants, they have another culture, another music, religions, and the diversity can makes a better country with respect between people and a variety of cultures but never forget our identity. Recognize our different ethnies, it's the first step to respect other ethnies. Also, we view with respect and admiration the europe people, but we aren't european, we are Latin people, so we have to respect the Latin people of other countries as a form of respect ourselves.
